In double felted area runnability problems are more common than in single felting, but drying capacity is higher. During rebuilds it could be possible to improve runnability by increasing the number of single felted groups but increased drying capacity requirements often prevent these modifications.

The EVdf web stabilizers improve runnability and provide additional drying capacity for double felted area. The free, unsupported transfer can be shortened even by 50 %. Ropeless tail feeding is possible due to the stabilized sheet run. Results of EVdf can be seen in better runnability and paper quality. Also higher paper machine speed is possible.
